Manitoba is a top destination for trophy black bear. Blue Haze has exclusive outfitting rights in part of the Porcupine Mountains and in the lowlands to the east. Bear density is high and colour phase bears are abundant. Blue Haze takes a great deal of pride in getting our clients on a bait with the type of trophy they are looking for. Large bears have historically been taken from the Porcupine Mountains and surrounding lowlands.
Tree stands and ground blinds are utilized. Archery (incl. Crossbow), muzzleloader, slug gun or rifle may be used. Hunting sites are accessed by ATV or walking. Some baits are very close with others being up to an hour away. Hunting generally begins near 3PM and runs until dark.
Accommodations are in our tent camp. Tents are constructed of a treated lumber frame, covered in a custom canvas and waterproof fly. The tents also have electricity and heaters.
Fully equipped brand new bathroom. This is an all inclusive hunting package. It includes guiding, meals, accommodations, gutting, skinning and freezing of your trophy. New, fully equipped bathroom/shower and laundry facilities.
The base camp for the hunt is the town of Bellsite, located on Highway #10. It is 37 miles north of the town of Swan River. The hunts are 6 days in length. Arrival is on a Sunday and departure is the following Sunday. There are numerous places to go fishing after taking a bruin. Local fish species include Walleye, Northern Pike and Trout.
